Zala Percival of Jackson, Michigan went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the age of 99. She was the daughter of Edwin and Mary (Dietz) Patefield born March 14, 1921 in Wisconsin. Zala was preceded in death by her husband Frederick; her parents; brother, Bob Patefield; three sisters, Ruth, Peggy and Helen. She is survived by her daughter Sally (Don) Flack; two grandchildren, Chad (Jeri) Flack and Lindsey (Ian) DeVaney; five great-grandchildren, Cole, Peyton, Coltin, Karsyn and Joslynn; sister, Mary Lloyd; several nieces and nephews.
Zala was a graduate from Jackson High School. She started her working career during World War II as a welder at then called Acme Industries, finishing after 50+ years of service as a certified welder at now called Bohn Aluminum. Zala was a life long member of First Church of Christ (Christian) now called Cornerstone Christian Church in Jackson. She loved to volunteer at W. A. Foote Memorial for many years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. According to her wish, cremation has taken place. A family memorial will be held at a later date.
