Yvonne Richardson Obituary

Yvonne J. Richardson (Stevick) passed away peacefully to Heaven on August 17, 2025 in Jackson, Michigan under the loving care of her daughter, Susie, son Dean, and Elara Caring Hospice.

Yvonne was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on July 25, 1931 to Gordon and Marguerite Stevick.  She was the oldest of four children.  Her family moved to Jackson when she was six years old from Ohio since her father felt raising his children and running a business there would be great for his family.

She graduated from Jackson High School in 1949 and began her career with AT&T at the age of 19 years old.  When she was in her early 50’s, her position with the company relocated to another area, which lead her back to college earning her medical transcriber degree.  She worked in the office of a local nursing facility for over 6 years until AT&T returned to the area and approached her to return to work with them. This position with AT&T brought great joy working with them and the many friends she made while working there. From that point on, she was able to continue her work with her their company until she retired with full benefits.

Yvonne was also a talented Astrologer for half of her life and love doing astrology charts for friends and family.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing beautiful things, and reading everything under the sun. She also enjoyed golfing in her later years. She had a china kiln that she made beautiful china, painting, and ceramics from.  She enjoyed the casinos with her friends, but especially with her brother, Ron.  Yvonne learned as much as she could about natural healing, herbs, and supplements using it to her and her family’s advantage.  She adored animals and quickly became “grandma” to her daughter’s pets after moving in with her.

She leaves behind her daughter, Susan Beatty (Al); son Dean (Tammie) Richardson; two grandchildren, Jason (Vee Jae) Overmyer; Ashley (Cody) Richardson-Young; six great-granddaughters, Avery; Kara; Eva; Marlayna, Gracynn; and Cameron; two great-grandsons, Sean and Seth; her sister Elaine (Roge) Weaver of Clark Lake; her brothers, Ron (Becky) Stevick of Kalamazoo; Noel (Carolyn) Stevick, of Jackson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She will be missed very much be her best friend, Mary Forner.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Al; grandson, Steve McCann; nephew Perry Stevick; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, whom she loved dearly and spoke of them often while living with her daughter, Susie for the past two-and-a-half years.
