William F. Shaughnessy Jr.

Of Clarklake, MI went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the age of 85. He was the son of William (Judy) Shaughnessy Jr. and Lela (John Moore)., born April 26, 1938 in Jackson, MI. William is survived by son, William (Janice) Shaughnessy III; daughter, Linda Shaughnessy; grandson, Ryan (Tina) Hollingshead; granddaughter, Heather (Tristan) Carter; great-grandsons, Andrew, Fisher, Hunter, and Axel; sister, Darlene (Eric) Ramsey, brother and sister-in-law, Larry (Barb) Dull. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Violet L. Shaughnessy; his parents; son, Glenn Shaughnessy; sister, Janet L. Shaughnessy, and brother, Elden Middlebrook. William was a graduate of Jackson High School.  Following high school, he served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He then worked and retired from Consumers Power as a General Superintendent of Customer Accounts. William enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, his Kubota tractor, and loved to spend time on his property with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 122 W. Wesley St., Jackson, MI on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 11:00am with Pastor Derek Riddle officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
