Wesley Calkins

Wesley Calkins, age 67, of Jackson, went to his eternal home Saturday, May 9, 2026 following a short battle with cancer. 

A graduate of Lansing Community College and Jackson College, Wes served his community as a paramedic, EMT, and volunteer firefighter for over 20 years before earning his nursing degree and working as a registered nurse.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Waunita (Kaufmann) Calkins of Lansing, and sister Gwendolyn. Wes is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda, and daughters Rebecca Calkins and Sara (Andy) Green, as well as his sisters Carolynne (Bill) Spooner, Bernice (Neil) Myrie, Juanita Christine Calkins, and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Wes was a faithful and devoted Christian, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where a memorial service will be held Friday, May 15 at 4:00 PM, with his brother-in-law Craig Seppa officiating.
