Victoria “Joyce” Carson of Jackson passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of 85. Joyce was the daughter of Kenneth and Charlotte (Hogan) Medley, born November 24, 1938, in Paducah, Kentucky. She is survived by her two children, Sammy (Brenda) Carson and Lisa Smith; four grandchildren, Paula (Josh) Johnston, Lindsay (Eric) Krueger, Katie Carson, and C.J. (Mikaela) Carson; one great-grandson, Owen Krueger; sisters, Lois Kennedy, Jean (Gary) Kipp, Linda (Dave) Moody, and Dorothy (Danny) Allan; many nieces and nephews, special neighbors, Jeremy, Kelly, Kathy, and Dave. Mrs. Carson was preceded in death by her husband, Sammy D Carson; parents; sister, Doris Worden; brother, Dale Medley; son-in-law, Paul Smith. Joyce was a 1956 Jackson High School graduate. She worked for many years at Comerica Bank and Jackson Harness Raceway, and she enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo with her husband and friends. Burial and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Henry Ford Hospice.
