Vickie Lee Stimer of Concord, our loving mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, and aunt passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 17, 2023. Born April 20, 1952 in Lansing, MI. Vickie was a true caregiver focusing person in home care for many years. She loved her pet cats and her cottage at Long Lake. She enjoyed playing many card games and working crossword puzzles. She was a simple woman, who just needed to be surrounded by her family to enjoy life.
Surviving are her 2 daughters, Shelley L. Hale, and Christie L. (Michael Hartford) Hale; her companion, Dennis Powers; 4 grandchildren, Aaron Baumgartner, Brittian Baumgartner, Kristopher Baumgartner, and Tyler (Liz Tingley) Hartford; 6 great-grandchildren, Jaylyn, Emma, Lucas, Kyanna, Kaylee, and Ares; 4 sisters and brothers, Donald (Lynette) Roberts, Carla Miller, Lisa (Randy) Elliott, and Rich (Joan) VanSickle; uncle, Howard “Sonny” Jenks, Jr.; her beloved cats, Butters and Bella; and many other family members and friends. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia Ault and Lawrence VanSickle; her grandparents, Thelma & Howard Jenks
The celebration of Vickie’s life will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Watson Funeral Chapel, 2590 Spring Arbor Rd. Jackson, MI 49203. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. Thursday until service time. Interment will be at Chapel Cemetery in Parma, MI. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Vickie.
