Of Parma, MI passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Health on Monday, January 6, 2020 at the age of 72. He was the son of John Captain “Cap” Risner and Verna M. (Beck) Risner, born January 28, 1947 in Albion, MI. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda (Hess) Risner; daughter, Kimberly Risner; son, James (Kristin) Risner; four grandchildren, Eric and Joshua Eggleton, and Phoebe and Henry Risner; one great-grandchild, Connor Eggleton; four siblings, Ellen, Carol, John, and Lora; and special friends, Tom and Tim Stitt. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings, Janet, Jim, Ronnie, and Cora. Tom was a 1965 graduate of Western High School. He worked for Clark Equipment for 18 years and Miller Industry for 10 years of service. Tom enjoyed hunting, Michigan football, and traveling up-north and to Florida. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Roseland Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the chapel on Monday from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm.
