Thomas Charles Pratt, 80, entered peacefully into the arms of his Savior in the early hours of Monday, March 13, 2023. Tom was born November 21, 1942 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Russell and Alta Pratt. He grew up playing baseball and fell in love with the sport. Later he was inducted into Battle Creek's Amateur Baseball Wall of Fame. Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Indians and the New York Yankees were favorite teams of his. Impressively, he could recite baseball stats of his favorite teams from as far back as the 1950's. In high school, Tom developed his musical talent by playing the trumpet and the cornet. He played in several bands including a German band with his high school friends. As an adult, he enjoyed playing his trumpet in church and singing in the Christmas choir. Tom obtained Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Western Michigan University in accounting and finance. He went on to work as an accountant for Consumers Energy for 31 years. After retiring, he served for six years as the department chair of accounting and finance at Davenport University.

On June 18, 1966 Tom married his love, Nancy Adams. They celebrated 56 years of marriage. Together they created a loving home filled with warmth and laughter for their three children. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors by working in his yard. Tom found mowing the grass relaxing and therapeutic. He also enjoyed traveling with his family. For many summers he took his family on wonderful vacations around the country, to places including Mt. Rushmore, Disney World and the Grand Canyon. In his retirement, he and Nancy enjoyed trips to Israel, England, Italy, Greece and Russia.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Nancy Pratt; children Daniel (Rachelle) Pratt and Kimberly (Jonathan) Beemer; seven grandchildren Jesse Owen, Josh Owen, Ian Pratt, Spencer Pratt, Garrett Beemer, Breanna Beemer and Hayden Beemer. He is preceded in death by his parents Russell and Alta Pratt and daughter Shana Pratt Beck. Tom will be fondly remembered for his generous spirit and sense of humor. He was a man committed to his faith and family and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at Cascades Baptist Church in Jackson, Michigan on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 10:30am. Visitation one hour before
