Terry Culp Schepeler

Terry (Sunny) Culp Schepeler, age 68, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022. She was born in Jackson on February 17, 1953, but also considered Lake Orion, Michigan, home, having lived there for 18 years and tended bar at Mr. B's in Troy. She is survived by her greatest pride and joy, her son Logan and daughter Carlee; parents Bob and Carolyn; sisters Karen (Tom), Ginny (Gary), and Nanci (Mark); twelve nieces and nephews; beloved cat, Marcy; and countless friends and former bar patrons. She is preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Bruce.

She graduated from Parkside High School in 1971 before attending Michigan State. She lived in many cities, including Boston, Houston, and Vero Beach, Florida, and even sailed around the West Indies in her twenties before returning home to Michigan. She loved playing euchre, cooking, traveling, watching MSU sports, taking boat rides, gathering with friends around a firepit, doing crossword puzzles, reading People magazine, and watching Wheel of Fortune (she even tried out once). A very social and independent woman, she fought Alzheimer's and corticobasal degeneration, a rare brain condition, until her last breath. She will be sorely missed and cherished by all who knew her, but she is now free from the diseases that made her life increasingly difficult. She was excited to donate her brain to U of M for research.

At her request, cremation has taken place and her life will be celebrated at the Beach Bar, 3505 Ocean Beach Road, Clark Lake, Michigan, 49234, on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 2 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CurePSP at 1216 Broadway, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10001 or online at psp.org/iwanttohelp/ways-to-give/.
