Mere moments after midnight on All Saints’ Day, November 1, 1952, Susan Joan, the second of four daughters born to Rudolph & Verna Juntti in Redford, Michigan, entered this world with a twinkle in her eye and a heart full of love for others. She departed from her earthly home where she was lovingly cared for by her husband, Ken, and daughter, Karen, to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Her family moved from Redford to Jackson when she was seven years old. Following her graduation from Jackson High School in 1970, she attended Jackson Community College where she met her husband, Ken, in an English Literature class taught by Burton Cox. After Ken & Sue married in 1974, they would often pay Burton a visit on their anniversary.
She found happiness in daisies, singing praise & worship songs, camping at Somerset Beach Campground, playing cute pranks on those she loved, and eating butter pecan ice cream. Her defining joy came from togetherness with others: Family gatherings, outings with friends, mentoring with Kids Hope USA, leading teen groups at church, answering a 3am phone call from a friend in need, and traveling nine times to Haiti for missions work.
Sue’s love continues on through her husband of 51 years, Ken; her firstborn, Karen; and her sister Nancy Nyman. She is reunited with her parents; sisters Virginia Holcomb and Janice Juntti; son, Jacob; daughter, Elizabeth “Betsey,” as well as 5 children whom she met for the first time upon entering heaven.
A celebration to honor Sue’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 13, beginning at 11:00am at the JaxNaz Church, 3905 Clinton Rd., Jackson, MI 49201. Following the service, family and out-of-town guests are welcome to a lunch provided by the church. The family will be receiving visitors on Tuesday, August 12, from 4:00-6:00pm, at Watson Funeral Chapel, 2950 Spring Arbor Rd., Jackson, MI 49201
