Susan Marie Ludwig

Of Jackson, MI passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the age of 67. She was the daughter of Elmer and Rosalie (Herter) Ketchum, born May 30, 1954 in Joplin, MO. Susan is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Richard; children, Troy (Kathleen) Ludwig, Kaitlyn (Travis) Cable; grandchild Bennett; nephew Taylor Ketchum; sisters-in-law Linda (Bob) Driscoll, Elaine (Bob) Smith, Shirley (Bill) Swank, Charlene (Ed Zlotorzynski) Ludwig; brother-in-law David (Suzanne) Ludwig; many nieces and nephews; and many family and friends in Missouri. She was preceded in death by her brother John Ketchum.

Susan attended Michigan State University, where she was a member of the ski club, and graduated with a degree in early childhood development. She was a teacher her entire career for Jackson Public Schools and taught many different levels. Susan had a passion for children, especially her own, as she would spend her summers traveling and enjoying quality time with her family. She also enjoyed baking, reading, yoga, and decorating for the holidays.

According to her request, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Our Lady of Fatima, 913 Napoleon Rd, Michigan Center, MI, on Friday October 1, 2021 at 11:00am with Fr. Bob Pienta officiating. Inurnment will be at St. John Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association https://www.lbda.org and the Michigan Parkinson Foundation https://www.parkinsonsmi.org. The family will receive friends at Our Lady of Fatima on Friday October 1, 2021 from 10:00am until the time of service.
