Of Jackson, MI went home to be home with her Lord on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 under the loving care of her family and Heartland Hospice Home Care at the age of 88. Suanne was the daughter of Raymond Fitch and Edna Fay (Riddle) Henderson born November 10, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is survived by her brother Gerald Henderson; two nieces, Linda (Richard) Bacon and Sandra (Chris) Groat; cousin, Christine (Roger) Larson. She was preceded in death by her parents. Suanne graduated from Jackson High School, Michigan State University with her Bachelor’s of Art Degree and the University of Michigan with her Master’s Degree in Education. Suanne was an elementary grade teacher for well over forty years. She started teaching at Concord, MI and continued at Jackson Public Schools in Jackson. She then was hired by the University of Michigan to give special education teaching to the patients at Mott Children’s Hospital School. Suanne then retired from the University of Michigan after forty plus years of service. She gave inspiration and education to thousands of students and provided hope and peace of mind to hundreds of parents. Suanne was a member of the Jackson Chapter Daughters of The American Revolution and First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading and traveling and took every opportunity to do both. She was a wonderful daughter and sister and aunt and will always be remembered with love and missed. A private family service will be held her at Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Jackson.
