Steven Nygaard Obituary

Steven Jon Nygaard, 73, died on Sunday, May 26, 2024.  Born in Pierpont, South Dakota, he lived and worked on the family farm until marrying the former Julie Jewel on August 15, 2004.  They moved back to Michigan in 2016, residing here until Steven’s death. 

Steven is survived by his wife of 19 years, Julie Nygaard, and his brother and sister-in-law, George and Rose, of Virginia.  He was predeceased by his parents, Melvin and Ruth of Pierpont, South Dakota, and his brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Jean of Texas, and his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Duane Timmons of Iowa. 

Visitation will be held at Watson Funeral Chapel, 2590 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson, on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 2:00 p.m.. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Reverend Tonya Arnesen will lead Steve’s memorial service at First United Methodist Church, 275 West Michigan Avenue, Jackson, on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with luncheon to follow.
