Stephen Patton Obituary

Stephen Russell Patton, 71, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on Monday, February 1st, 2021, at his apartment in Jackson. He was the son of Dorothy and Caster Patton, born on October 20th, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan. He is survived by his brother, Paul (Bethany), nieces Jessica, Emily, and Grace, and nephews Ryan and James, ten grandnephews and one grandniece.

He was a graduate of Spring Arbor College (1970), MS from Wayne State University, and Ph.D. from Oakland University (1997). He worked as a chemist in the water treatment facility, City of Detroit, and taught chemistry at Louisiana Tech University and Missouri Valley College until his retirement in 2017.

Steve had a passion for scientific research and was published as a member of medical research teams in numerous medical journals, including Lancet. He was respected by many for his intellect, generosity, and kindness.
