Stanley William Lyon of Parma, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the age of 90. Stan was the son of Francis C. Lyon and Naomi R. Ballmer. He was born May 15, 1931 in Waldron, MI. Stan is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn M. Lyon, and their children, Cheryl (Keith) Roberts, Carol (William) Boss, and Sharon (Douglas) McCarrell, siblings Gracie Sargent, Mary (John) Davis, and Edward (Nancy) Lyon, grandchildren, Kyle (Catherine) Boss, Simone (Tony) Scheele, Gavin (Christina) McCarrell, Kregg (Marijka) Boss, and Kaitlyn (Kevin) Granger, and seven great-grandchildren, Mila and Margo Scheele, Micah and Hannah Granger, and Persephone, Roman, and Matilda Boss, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Hilda Wristen.
Stan graduated from Waldron High School. Served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was the owner of Stan Lyon Welding and Equipment Repair. Stan was faithful to his church and mission work his entire life and was a member of the VFW. Stanley and Evelyn enjoyed traveling, especially to Alaska. A celebration of his life will be held on at Spring Arbor Cemetery on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Reverend Darold L. Hill officiating. Military Honors will follow the service performed by the American Legion Post 29 Ritual Team.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
