Ruth Stephenson Obituary

Of Spring Arbor, MI passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the age of 94. She was the daughter of W.L. and Mary (Vore) Stephenson, born October 25, 1926 in Kalamazoo, MI. Ruth is survived by her sister, Lila (Clarence) Chambers. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Esther Field and Wesley Stephenson. Ruth attended Eastern Michigan University where she completed her undergraduate studies, and then went to the University Michigan to receive two Master’s Degrees. Following her studies, she went to work at Vandercook Lake Elementary where she was principal, and then worked as a librarian at Spring Arbor University. Ruth loved to travel and was an exceptional artist in oil painting, and sculptures. Ruth was a life long member at Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services held at this time. Interment will take place at Spring Arbor Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spring Arbor University.
