Rosemary Lorraine Embury of Jackson, Michigan went home to be with her Lord on Monday, January 18, 2021 at her home at the age of 95. Rosemary was the daughter of Regis and Maria (Seamans) Cavender born September 21, 1925 in Jackson, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clement I. Embury; two daughters, Kathleen Embury and Marlene Embury; her parents; her siblings, Leo (Marge) Cavender, Mickey Cavender, Bernadine (Russell) Smith, Deloris (Alfred) Truszkowski, Fred (MaryLou) Cavender; son-in-law, Scott Garver; one niece; several nephews. Rosemary is survived by eight children, Charles (Bernadine) Embury, Lorrie Garver, Larry (Robben) Embury, Jeanine Embury, James Embury, Debbie (Wayne) Prentice, Kevin (Nanette) Embury, Julie (Robert) Clemet; 26 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Heather Allen and Colleen Withrow. Rosemary was a graduate of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic School.
She worked for many years as a Certified FTD Florist at her family owned Cavender Nursery Florist Business, retiring after many years of service. Rosemary was a member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to Broadway Shows, spending time at her condo in Traverse City, supporting her grandchildren at their choir events, and all their activities. She enjoyed wildlife, deer, rabbits and birds. Camping with her family, and playing Pedreaux with her husband in their Pedreaux Card Club for over 30 years. Also enjoyed gardening and canning in earlier years. Rosemary was a tremendous loving homemaker. She loved helping her family and her many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 10:30am, Father Timothy MacDonald officiating, Private interment following St. John Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Rosemary may be made to Jackson Interfaith Shelter, 414 S. Blackstone Street, Jackson, Michigan 49201. Visitation at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, attendance will be 25 people allowed at a time inside and all must wear masks. Visitation at the church on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 9:30am until the time of service. All must wear masks.
