Rosemary Sue Buku

Rosemary Sue Buku, age 78 of Jackson MI, went to the Lord just short of her 79th birthday on August 18, 2021.  She left the loving presence of her family on earth with great anticipation of being with her Beloved Jesus and with her family members who have proceeded her in death. 

She is the daughter of Michael George Buku and Thelma Rosmund Robeson.  She was born on August 24, 1942 in Chelsea, MI.  She is survived by her sons, Donald Linden Jr., Rev. John Linden, and Daniel Linden.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Dominique Linden, Ashley (Drew) White, and Spencer Linden. She leaves behind three great-grandchildren Jake, Athena and Egypt whom she adored.  She also has three surviving siblings: Barbara Mitchell, Michael (Michelle) Buku, Elise Howard, and Judy Buku.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Linden and daughter, Laura Linden, her parents, Michael and “Rose” as well as her sister Sharon Jackson, and brothers-in-law, Marvin Howard and Dwight Mitchell. 

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many beautiful neighbors and friends. 

Rosemary graduated from Tecumseh High School and then finished her Associates degree late in life to the great pride of her family.  She was dedicated and resourceful and was a joyfully pleasant co-worker at all three of the jobs that she had after her degree, including Domino’s Farms, JF Walker Company and finally Comtronics from where she retired. 

Rosemary loved her faith and her family.  She prayed for them, for all her friends, and for anyone else in need.  She was a beautiful woman who was always ready to give whatever was asked of her.  She was a member of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Parish in Jackson, and though she had been homebound for several years, she never forgot her community and constantly thought of and prayed for all of the parishioners whom she knew and loved dearly. 

A visitation will take place on Sunday, August 22 from 2:00-5:00pm at Watson Funeral Chapel (2590 Spring Arbor Rd. 49203) and also on Monday, August 23 at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish (120 E. Wesley St., Jackson, MI 49201).  Private interment will take place at St. Joseph Shrine in the Irish Hills.  Fr. John Linden will be officiating
