Roberta “Bobbie” Hill of Jackson, Michigan our loving Wife, Mother and Nana, passed peacefully while at Vista Grande Villa Care Center on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the age of 90
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, William “Bill” Hill, children Steve Kasper, Vicki (Ken) Yeager, Linda (Mark) Saia, Kevin (Karen) Kasper, stepsons Jett and Jeff Hill, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren who knew her as Nana. Siblings John (Colleen) Plumley, Gloria Ringle, Jerry Plumley and Judy (Ron) Scheff and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Carroll Plumley and Viola (Anthony), brothers Elmer “Bud” Plumley and wife Doris, Duane Plumley and his wife Virginia and Ed Plumley and his wife Caroline.
Bobbie was born and raised in Marion, Ohio during the great depression and World War II. With two older brothers and five younger siblings she learned how to stand up for herself and learned the art of homemaking. At 18 she left home to develop a career in modeling and cosmetology but she soon fell in love and started a family with husband, Ronald Kasper and four children. During tough economic times she learned to be a frugal shopper, handle the family finances and would sew most of her children’s clothes including her daughters’ wedding dresses!
After her children were grown and she was beginning a new chapter in life she was struck by humanity’s curse, cancer. She beat the odds thanks in major part to her new love, Bill, who would be her partner for the rest of her life. And what a life they shared; boating all over the Great Lakes, traveling throughout the U.S. and living in Michigan, Florida and Oklahoma. Bobbie developed a new skill, crocheting beautifully patterned afghans and sharing her newfound talent with family and friends. By the dozens. And those designs won several Grand Prizes and Best of Shows for several years at the Oklahoma State Fair. That was her style. And the way that her memory will live on.
Bobbie was always engaging with everyone around her and easily made friends. Her sincere interest in the people she interacted with throughout her life endeared her to many. She will be greatly missed by all those friends and family members she touched in her life. And now she is touching the hand of God and rejoining those special people who preceded her. May her soul rejoice!
