She worked as a payroll clerk, performing cost accounting duties for Diecast Corp. She graduated from Jackson Business University. She was a charter member of Brookside United Methodist Church, where she held many offices and was involved in several committees and circles. She loved quilting, and made one as a wedding gift for each of her children, and as a celebration of the birth of each grandchild and great-grandchild. She also helped create a king-size 50th anniversary memorial quilt for her church, which is on permanent display there. She won many ribbons at the fair for her quilting. Although she always said she couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket, she loved playing the hammer dulcimer. Along with Lenny, she was a member of Uncle Carl’s Dulcimer Club in Michigan and the Mellow Tones in Florida. She also enjoyed doing ceramics, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and watching the Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and the Hallmark Channel. She loved her family and especially enjoyed hearing about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities. Hearing their stories always brought her joy.
