Robert "Mike" Erwin Horton

Mike went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2021, peacefully at his home. Mike was the son of Edgar and Arlene (Hendershott) Horton. He was born on May 12, 1931 in Albion, MI. Mike is survived by his wife of 26 years, Judy; his daughters Robin Fritz (Keith) and Virginia Horton (Dave Whitney); his grandchildren Lia (Samuele), Cortney, Cameron (Tiffany), Connor, Kasey (Kelsey), Mike (Claire), Corrin (Brandon), and Edgar; his great-grandchildren Anja, Urijah, Cavan, Theo, Autumn, Ella, Jackson; his stepchildren Andrew Schneider (Michelle), Brian Schneider, Chris Winter (Dom); his step-grandchildren Cody, Matthew, Hunter, Andrew, Brianna, Kendra, Taylor, Cara, Garett; his step great-grandson Grayson; his son-in-law George Stormer. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Arlene and Edgar Horton; his daughter Patricia Stormer; and his brothers Bruce, Harold, Gerald, Samuel, and Byron. He graduated from Parma High School and then enrolled at the University of Michigan to become a pharmacist like his Uncle Merrimen. After his father had become ill, Mike returned home to take over the family farm. Mike worked for Standard Oil, Blue Surf, and at Burr Oak Golf Course, while also farming and woodworking. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin up north and at Parma Cafe, where he met friends for coffee in the morning and tea at 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
