Robert James Myers, passed away on December 15, 2025 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice. Robert was the son of Leon and Ladora (Hagey) Myers, born April 24, 1938 in Albion, Michigan.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Mike) Alldaffer, Pam Beers, Barb Simmons, Robyn (Leif) Borreson; grandchildren, Christan; Courtney; Robert; Jamie; Steve; Lisa; Heather; Jiva Jive; and Calli;
Many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and his half-brother, Lucio.
Robert is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kaylene “Sammie” Myers; his parents, Leon Myers and Ladora Goldsmith; Joan Mitchell; Jan Farmer; Grandchildren, Logan Bailey; Tristan Beers;
and son-in-law, JJ Simmons.
He was a graduate of Jackson High School, and obtained many certifications in firefighting and EMT from Jackson College. Robert went on to own three successful businesses: Jackson Aluminum Supply Company, Building Supply of Jackson, and Building Supply of Kalamazoo. He was a paid, on-call firefighter with Summit Township for 33 years, District Governor for the Lions Club, a leader in the Jackson Home Builders Association, a very active member of Brookside United Methodist Church., as well as the Jackson Emmaus Community. He received many prestigious awards, including the “Melvin Jones Fellow”, given by the Lions Club International, and won many international trips from CertainTeed’s Top-30 Club.
Robert loved jewelry making, watch repair, woodworking, traveling, antiquing, and spending time with this family.
Robert will be remembered as a “girl dad”. 61 years ago, Robert started a tradition taking all of his girls Christmas shopping for their mom the Saturday before Christmas. They continued that tradition (no one ever missed this trip). In honor of that tradition, his service will be held in his honor the Saturday prior to Christmas.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 4:00-6:00pm at Watson Funeral Chapel – 2590 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson, Michigan. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 with visitation from 9:00am until the time of service at 10:00am with Chad Parmalee, Officiating. Interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his honor can be made to the Home Instead and Elara Caring Hospice.
