Robert Scott Hoover of Spring Arbor, MI went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at the age of 70. He was the son of Robert and Barbara Hoover, born October 22, 1950 in Jackson, MI. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jan Hoover (Heisler); two daughters, Emily Hoover, Sarah Scott (Shawn), grandchildren Summer, Sammy and Shepherd; sister Nancy Seydell, nephews Steve Seydell and David Seydell (Vickie); nephew Jerrad Miller (Amanda); niece Stephanie Hoover; and brother Doug Hoover; niece Heidi Hoover and nephew Chad Hoover. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Barbara, brother Mike Hoover, sister Nyanne Miller (Hoover) and nephew Eric Miller.
He served his country proudly and honorably in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer First Class Electrician’s Mate. He owned and operated Hoover Design Build until he was physically unable to work any longer. He later graduated magna cum laude from Spring Arbor University with a degree in English. He was a lifelong pursuer of knowledge, maker of adventures, avid woodworker, fixer of everything, listener of hearts, and defender of the underdog. His quick wit and generous smile brought laughter and ease to those around him. He will be forever missed.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson following all (COVID-19 Recommendations) on Saturday November 14, 2020 at 3:00pm with Reverend Benton Heisler officiating.
