Of Jackson, MI went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the age of 89. He was the son of Fred and Annabelle (Ribby) Baker, born August 6, 1932 in Jackson, MI. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Kathryn Joan Baker; son, Randy (Darlene) Baker; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred “Chuck” Baker; sister, Beverly (Richard) Ludlow; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Steve “Sonny Boy” Baker; and siblings, Donald Baker, Norma Sierminski, Edith Jabkiewitz, Wilma Collins, and Howard Baker.
Robert served his country honorably in United States Army from 1952-1954. He worked and retired from Kelsey Hayes after 40 years of service. Robert enjoyed boating, fishing, going to garage sales, and working in his yard. He had many jokes and had quite the sense of humor. Robert loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no services held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a veteran’s organization of your choice.
