Richard Duane Pickrell

Of Jackson, MI passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the age of 47. He was the son of Orvel “Duke” and Jeanine “Jeanie” (Graves) Pickrell, born June 29, 1974 in Jackson, MI. Rich is survived by his parents; sister, Melissa (James) Bailey; significant other, Christy and her daughter, Lizzy; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and special dog, Lucy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Phyllis and Richard Graves; and special dog, Ruby Mae. Rich was a graduate of East Jackson High School Class of 1992. After high school he attended Jackson College and joined the United States Army Reserves where he served his country honorable. Rich was the owner of Pickrell Lawn and Landscaping.  He was then a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Operator Engineers #324. Rich had a love for Jeeps, motorcycles, and ATV’s. He loved to take them Up-North camping to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. He also enjoyed restoring old trucks and spending time with his family. Rich will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 12:00pm with Pastor Steve Larson officiating. Interment will take place on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11:00am with Military Honors at Alchin Farm Cemetery, 4585 Vanorden Road, Webberville, MI 48892. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson Animal Shelter or Cascades Humane Society.

The family will receive friends at the chapel from 10:00am until the time of service.
