Phyllis Joyce Kenton

Of Jackson, MI went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 20. 2020 at the age of 89. Phyllis was the daughter of Charles and Marie VanDusen born August 24, 1931 in Rudyard, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph DeWitt Kenton; two grandchildren, Shawn Kenton and Kyle Tooley; great-grandson, Daxton Kenton; two sisters; three brothers. Phyllis is survived by four children, Joseph (Kathleen) Kenton Jr., Suzanne (Marc) Shafley, Mary (Carl) Lowe and John (Jackie) Kenton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Jackie) VanDusen; a few nieces, nephews and cousins.

Phyllis attended Jackson East Intermediate School. She worked for John Ganton Countryside Care for 10 years, then spent the rest of her life being a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and neighbor to her family and many friends. Phyllis loved making greeting cards, playing cards, and working in her flower garden. She dearly loved spending time with her family and making cookies for her grandchildren. According to her wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring of 2021.
