Phillip Shelts Obituary

Phillip Richard Shelts of Spring Arbor, MI passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the age of 79. He was the son of Leonard and Nettie Shelts, born November 25, 1940 in Rushville, IL. Phil was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Shelts; his parents; sisters, Patricia Osborne and Barbara Kamm.  He is survived by his five children, Rick (Tammy) Shelts, Kathy (Henry Konkol) Bayer, Vicky Snyder, Danny (Christi) Shelts, and Scott Shelts; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Betty) Shelts; many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Lanora Bates and Robert Crouch.  Phil served his country proudly and honorably as a United States Marine Lance Corporal. He retired from USF Holland Trucking. Phil loved to golf and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 11:00am with Michael D. Mason officiating. Interment at Spring Arbor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Henry Ford Allegiance Health.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm.
