Of Jackson, MI passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at the age of 80. Pete is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; daughters Tracy (Terry) Saylor, Robyn (Rick Weaver) Papaioannou and Jana (Steve) Terry; grandchildren Joshua Saylor, Sydney Buerster, Brooke Terry, Brett Terry and Blake Terry. Also surviving is his brother Richard Papaioannou, nephew Richard Papaioannou, nieces Laurie Mott and Lisa Davis, brother-in-law Anthony Palma and his best friend Tony (Colleen) Philips. He was preceded in death by his father Peter, his mother Concetta (Little One) and his son Daniel. Pete went to Queens College and the City College of New York where he earned his degree in mechanical engineering. After college he worked for General Dynamics in Connecticut before moving to Michigan and eventually retiring from Consumers Energy. Pete was an avid supporter and champion of his three girls and his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family time. He enjoyed coaching softball, playing softball, had a love hate relationship with golf, and always loved a good beer from his “preferred location” in his 1950’s refrigerator. Pete lived life to the fullest and will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Watson’s Funeral Chapel, 2590 Spring Arbor Rd, Jackson, MI 49201.
