Peter Steven Adkins, 59, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024. Born on June 4, 1965, Peter led a life filled with purpose, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, love, and dedication to his family and community. He served his country with pride as part of the Army Special Forces, working as Recon, exemplifying his courage and bravery to protecting others. Following his military service, Peter became an active member of his local union, where he tirelessly fought for fairness and equality in the workplace. His dedication to his work was a defining aspect of his life, and he took pride in every task he undertook.
Peter was also a lover of travel, often seeking joy in discovering new places and creating lasting memories. Yet, the greatest source of joy in his life was his family, especially his grandchildren. He was the proud grandfather of ten, each of whom he cherished and frequently expressed how much they meant to him.
Peter is survived by his loving mother, Ursula, his sons Peter Steven Adkins, Joseph Michael Adkins, and Austin Thomas Adkins, his daughter Alisha Tedder, and his beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Peter Adkins, whose memory Peter held dear throughout his life.
Peter’s legacy of hard work, love for adventure, and deep devotion to his grandchildren will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. He will be greatly missed, but his memory will forever remain in our hearts. A memorial service will be held in his honor at Watson Funeral Chapel on Thursday, October 10, 2024 with visitation from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.
