Paul I Christner

Christner, Paul I., of Jackson, MI.

Age 80, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

He was born September 3, 1944 in Jackson, Michigan to George and Ruth Christner.  He is survived by his children, Joel Christner (Veronica), Matthew (Katie) Christner, and grandchildren, Aidan, Abbey, Alec, Gabriel, and Shannon; his sister, Janice Baum, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Veronica Christner; parents George and Ruth Christner, and sister, Shirley Wilcox. 

Paul was a graduate of Paulding High School in 1962 and served his country in the United States Air Force from 1965-1969.  His career led him to become a Chiropractor.  Over the years, he worked with Busch Entertainment-Sea World, San Diego, California as well as the Michigan Department of Corrections.

Paul was an avid golfer, bowler, enjoyed participating in musicals, and announcing at the Northwest Mountie Baseball games. Paul loved hearing updates about the lives and accomplishments of all the numerous friends he has made in his well-lived lifetime and cheering on all of his grandchildren.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Watson Funeral Chapel – 2590 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson, Michigan with visitation from 10:00am until 12:00pm.  The memorial service will begin at 12:00pm with Pastor Matthew Rohde officiating.  Interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Paul’s honor can be made to Northwest Athletic Boosters and they will equally share contributions with Northwest Musical Productions.
