Norman J Yassay

Norman Joseph Yassay passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the age of 96 at The Willows in Spring Arbor, MI. 

He was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 29, 1929. He was the son of Alexander J. and Helen A. Yassay. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sandra V Yassay and her children Stacie Halperin (Michael) and Dean Ressler, and his children Mark (Cindy) Yassay, David (Elizabeth) Yassay and Joseph Yassay.

He was preceded in death by Emilie Yassay and children Cheryl, Catherine and Julie Yassay; and sister, Patricia (Yassay) Wellington. 

Norm served in the United States Air Force from 1950-1954. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal. He was an integral part of the Dynamometer team at Ford Motor Company for 30 years. He belonged to the American Legion Post 0315. Private inurnment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
