Norman Edward Althoff, 73, of Summit Township, went to his eternal home in heaven on September 16, 2025 surrounded by and lovingly supported by his family.
Norman was born to Albert and Patricia (Hutchinson) Althoff and was a graduate of Northwest High School, and after 32 years of service, retired from Chelsea Milling.
Norman enjoyed cycling, camping, kayaking, and working on projects for his yard. He loved being “Papa Cheese” to his grandsons and the “Slime monster” to his granddaughters. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. A huge thank you to his wonderful friend, Mike Woizeschke. Whether it was sharing the love of U of M Wolverines or the love of cycling, thank you for your visits and time spent with Norm during his illness.
Norm is survived by his wife, Bethany (Scharrer) Althoff. Norm and Beth met as classmates at their Lutheran School and lost touch over the years, but by a coincidence, met again and married October of 2008.
Norman is survived by his wife, Bethany; sons, Tom (Angie) Althoff and Michael Althoff; daughter Sarah (Jeremy) Rollins; step-son, Mark Hoy; step-daughter, Kellie (Jason) Roesner; grandchildren, Alivia Althoff; Kelsey (Jeff) Brimmer; Bryce; Mikayla; Keyton; and Cameron Althoff; Ezra; Elijah; and Jude Rollins; Rosalind; Natalie; Lena and Scarlett Roesner; Sisters, Laura Adams; Sue Lee; and Ruth (Charlie) Campbell; numerous nieces and nephews; sister and brother-in-law, Dave (Chris) Scharrer; Jonathan (MaryEllen) Clevenger.
