Of Jackson, MI passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the age of 92. She was the daughter of Walter and Ellen VanCamp, born November 5, 1929 in Jackson, MI. Norma is survived by her son, Mark (Mary) Cunningham; sister, Mary Ellen VanCamp; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Philip J. Cunningham in 2013; and her son, Brian P. Cunningham in 2016. Norma was a graduate of Jackson High School Class of 1947, and attended Jackson Community College. She was devoted homemaker and was Past President Women’s Club of Jackson. Norma was an avid domestic and wardrobe seamstress, enjoyed gardening, traveling, and composing poetry. Norma received the Golden Poet Award in 1988, World of Poetry, Sacramento, CA, and the Editors Choice Award in 1997 National Library of Poetry, Owings Mills, MD. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the nurses at Henry Ford Allegiance and to Amy at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. A celebration of her life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 12:00pm with Pastor Ross Mahan officiating. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cascade Humane Society.
