White, Miranda Dean
9/15/1998 - 1/18/2025
Our beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, and aunt passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025. Born September 15, 1998 in Jackson, Michigan. She was diagnosed with Rett’s Syndrome at 18 months. Miranda attended the Lyle Torrant Center until the age of 25 years, where she had many loving teachers and nurses. She enjoyed the show, “Bear in the Big Blue House” more than anything. She would watch it and other shows for hours, smiling, clapping her hands or stomping her feet. Miranda was able to communicate to others through her eyes and her facial expressions. She would communicate by crying tears of happiness when seeing a loved one, playing “baby go boom” – especially with her mother, sticking her tongue out in hopes you would do it in return, and giving some sass by rolling her eyes-wanting to see yours roll back at her. She was also able to communicate when she didn’t approve of something, such as a show or others talking too loudly, and she would make sure everyone around her knew it.
Miranda lived a rich life always dressing up for Halloween, the latest electronics, spending time with family, traveling to Disney multiple times, Myrtle Beach, Hawaii and camping.
Surviving are her 3 siblings, Brandon (Jessica) White, Andrew (Chelsey) White, Alexandra White; Grandparents, Sandra and Thomas Leabu; and 5 nieces and nephews, Cooper White, Marri White, Eleanore White, Matthew White, and Isla White. Miranda is preceded in death by her parents, Jeffrey and Elizabeth White.
She was a sweet gift to all of her family and a reminder of how important it is to slow down and not take anything for granted. Her family finds peace knowing Miranda is now free of her earthly body and reunited with her parents and (God) Heavenly Father.
The Celebration of Miranda's Life will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Watson Funeral Chapel, 2590 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson, MI 49203. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Prior to the services. For those wishing, contributions may be made to Rett Syndrome or Lyle A. Torrant Center in memory of Miranda.
