Michael James Norton

Age 35, of Jackson County, passed away suddenly at his home July 13, 2018. Michael was born on April 6, 1983, in Jackson, MI, to Kimberly Linabury and the late Kenneth Norton.

Michael was a free spirit. He was loved by all. He never met a person that he didn’t become friends with. The only people he ever argued with was his sister Heather and brother Joey. Michael was always right, even though Heather thought she was. Even as an adult, Nikki would confirm that he thought he was always right. Oh wait, twice he admitted he was wrong, with a smile. He really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends on the lake. He was a compassionate person that loved helping others. He was a jokester and loved making people laugh and smile. He had a love for music, any music, you name it, and even the CD’s his brother Joey would sneak away from him. He had a love for movies. He could recite any movie he had watched. Oh wait, we can’t forget his love for his 4-legged companion Bruiser.

Preceded in death by his father Kenneth Norton, Great Grandmother Maurine Tomaw, Step-Grandfather Ronald Sheppard, and Grandparents James and Betty Lou Norton. He is survived by his mother Kimberly (Tommy) Linabury, his siblings, Heather (Craig) Norton, Joe (Tasha) Norton, nephews, Chance and Jayden James, girlfriend, Nikki Leggett, bonus family, Felicity, Mitch, Destiny, Devin, and grandchildren, Emiliano Jr., Kyle Jr., grandparents, Marcia Sheppard, Wendell Cobb, aunts and uncles, Jana (Danny) Graham, Jill (Lonnie) Miller, Cindy DeLoy, Chris (Pat) Bedore, cousins, Amanda, Justin, Jamie, Travis, Tasha, Shauna, Lindsay, Lou, Andrew, and many more extended family and friends. Michael graduated from Northwest High School in 2002.

A celebration of Michael’s life will take place outdoors at 4576 Leeward Dr., Pleasant Lake, MI. Casual attire is recommended. Family will receive friends from 3-7 pm on Sunday, July 22, 2018. Visitation with the family will begin at 3pm, with the service starting at 4pm. A light meal will immediately follow the service. The service will be officiated by Michael’s cousin, Kary Swiontek.
