Mary Boadway Obituary

"How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." – A.A. Milne

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary Louise Boadway, who was born on August 21, 1937, and passed away on February 28, 2025. She departed this life surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion to family.

Mary was a loving and dedicated mother who took great joy in teaching her daughters the skills of cooking, sewing, and baking—gifts they will cherish forever. She also found immense fulfillment in her work as an aide at Mercy Hospital Pediatrics, where her compassion and warmth touched the lives of many children and families.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion.

Mary is survived by her four daughters and their husbands: Carol and Terry Tooley, Vickie and Craig Raehtz, Brenda and Chris Rowley, and Nola-Ann and Cliff Cogan. She leaves to mourn her second-born daughter, who was born on her birthday, a bond they cherished throughout their lives.

She was a devoted grandmother to Shawn Tooley (fiancée Cait Whisler), Erica Eyler (husband Jeremy), Casen Raehtz, Adam Raehtz (wife Leah), Sterling Raehtz (wife Dr. Sandra), Abbi Schonhard (husband Tyler), Nicole Norburg (husband Nicholas), Kelley Arnold (husband John), Valerie Alexander (husband Wil), Derek Cogan (wife Jessica), and Brock Cogan (wife Brittany).

Her love extended to her great-grandchildren: Grant, Avalin, Russell, Lillian (Charlie), Nolan, River, Ty, Christopher, Griffin, Robin, Tre, Aiden, Westin, McKenna, and James, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at Watson Funeral Chapel – 2590 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson.  A memorial service to honor Mary’s life will be held at Watson Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to her service.
