Marilyn Potts Obituary

Marilyn J. Potts of Jackson MI, passed away on May 7, 2020. Proceeded in death by her husband Robert in October, 2017 after 69 years of marriage. Survived by her three children Robert C. (Janet) of Ann Arbor MI, Deborah Boone (Steve) of Jackson, and David D. (Ulyana) of Lansing MI. Five Grandchildren Shaina Boone (Dan), Keith Boone (Kristy, Emy, Leo), Katherine Potts, Daniel Potts (Erin), and Sofia Maystrenko (Brent). Two sisters, Janice Easterday and Betty Mackert and their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. And all of her special friends.

Marilyn was deeply giving, creative and had exceptional style (even on the golf course!). Having received a Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Fine Arts, Bachelor degree from The Ohio State University, she applied her artistic skills to all aspects of her life whether it was decorating, art, fashion or gift giving. She brought joy and smiles to all. She had many special friends, who especially since Robert’s passing have supported her. She was well known about town, no lunch would be complete without sharing a chocolate with friends with her and the restaurant staff.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be set for a later date in Jackson when friends and family are able to safely convene.  In lieu of flowers, please donate in Marilyn’s name to: Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Homes, who enabled us to be together in the end during this time of the COVID crisis, to Interfaith Shelter to whom Marilyn and Robert so generously supported throughout their lives, or to Ella Sharp Museum because art and culture are paramount.
