Our loving wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma was guided by her guardian angels home on Friday, February 2, 2024. Born April 7, 1931 in Jackson, Michigan. Mickey and her husband lived in Spring Arbor for 40 years. They also enjoyed winters in Florida where she played cards and was a member of the women’s club. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, watching wildlife, especially deer, coloring, television detective shows, and was an avid reader. She loved attending her children’s activities and later her grandchildren’s activities.
Mickey is survived by her husband of 70 years, Lyle R. McArthur, who she married on January 9, 1954; 4 children, Dorie McArthur (Larry Blanchard), Debbie McArthur, Kate (Blair) Wilcox, and Michael (Denise) McArthur; 10 grandchildren, Robynne (Dan) Lafountain, Randall (Lola) Wilcox, Valerie (Jesse) Rentfrow, Lisa (Tyler) Sebastian, Christin (Michael) Turner, Bethany McArthur, M. Thomas McArthur, Elijah McArthur (Samantha Lustig), Julia Lundquist (Josh Hayes), and Jack Lundquist; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Irene Waters(widow of Robert Waters); 8 nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends. Mickey was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Lee Hoffman; her dear aunt, Ramona Dubois; great-grandson, Eli Rentfrow, and sister-in-law Doris Quainton.
The Celebration of Mickey’s Life will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Watson Funeral Chapel, 2590 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson, MI 49203 with Rev. Michael T. McArthur officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral chapel. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Mickey McArthur.
