Margaret S. Navarre, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in Jackson, Michigan, at the age of 90. She departed this world on October 7th, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family.
Margaret was born on July 9th,1933 in Detroit, Michigan. She is a first generation American - her mother, an Irish immigrant. She was an only child who grew up in Jackson, where she forged lifelong friendships. Margaret married Joseph Alexander Navarre III of Jackson on February 4th, 1956. A sign on their wedding car read, “Watch Jackson Grow.” Together they took this to heart. They built a large, loving family over their 49 years together. Margaret is survived by her devoted children, cherished grandchildren, and a growing number of great-grandchildren. Their lives have been profoundly shaped by her love, her faith, and her guidance.
Margaret was a friend to many. Her warm smile and gentle spirit brought comfort and light. Her wisdom and generosity were boundless. She had an enduring love for her community and her church, Queen of the Miraculous Medal- serving many years as an Arimathean and Eucharistic minister.
Margaret found solace in the beauty of nature, whether it was tending her gardens or watching the birds whilst listening to classical music. She was an avid reader, Skittle connoisseur, and a lifelong learner. Margaret's love and resolve were contagious. She encouraged those around her to embrace each moment with gratitude, compassion, and joy. She will be remembered for her impeccable style, unwavering kindness, and her patience.
Mass to honor Margaret's life will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal on October 28th, 2023, at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Queen of the Miraculous Medal - causes that were dear to Margaret's heart.
Margaret's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the friends and community members who supported them during this time. Your love and kindness have been a source of strength. A special thank you to Fr. Tim, Elara Caring, and Watson Funeral for providing such comfort to her and our family during the final days.
May we all know that she is cloaked in eternal peace. Her legacy and lovely spirit will live in our hearts forever.
