MaShayla Lyn Conner

MaShayla Lyn Conner, born July 14, 1995, was called to Heaven on December 27, 2020, as the result of a car accident. MaShayla is survived by her parents, Heather (Brian) Butts, Marcel Conner and Stephaine Bailey; her little brother, Kai Conner, her little sissy, Willow Butts; her grandparents, Nancy Bell, Jerry Vincent, Louis (Jackie) Conner, MariJane Schuler,Terri and Kenny Butts, as well as numerous Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Friends and her dog Betty. She is preceded in death by her Great Grandparents, Izora Conner and Noble Conner, Grandfather, Harvey B. Bell, Great Grandparents, Charles and Phyllis Hagen, as well as her Uncle Anthony Conner.

MaShayla lived life to the fullest; her nickname was MaShayla “Mishap” or to her parents and family, Bear. Her friends called her Shay or Shay Shay. Her beautiful smile and laughter were contagious and it filled a room whenever she was present. If you met her once, you never forgot her and if you did have the privilege of knowing her, sure enough every time you saw her MaShayla would greet you with her beautiful smile and a great big hug. MaShayla was always there for anyone and everyone that needed her; her heart was bigger than her head at times. MaShayla would always go out of her way to make someone’s day and to put a smile on their face. She put so many people’s needs in front of her own; she touched so many lives in countless ways.

While life handed her ups and downs and lots of detours along the way, she was a fighter and she faced life’s challenges head on and never backed down. MaShayla loved to spend time with her family and friends. She loved to fish, scratch lotto tickets, do adult coloring, and enjoyed spending time outdoors and taking her dog on car rides.

MaShayla will be greatly missed by many, but she wouldn't want all who loved her to be sad. She lived life her way. “Mishap is what they call me”.

According to family wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00pm with Michael D. Mason officiating. For those family and friends unable to attend due to current restrictions, the service will be live streamed on our website at watson-funeral-chapels.com, under MaShayla’s obituary, please select the live-stream icon. The family will receive friends at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 5:00-8:00pm. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance of 25 people at a time and all must wear mask.
