Lindell Odel Hart, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at his home in Benton, Illinois. He was the son of Opal and Jess Hart born on August 29, 1943 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, of 60 years; children Troy (Joy) Hart, Kim (Greg) Chevalier, and Ryan (Lisa) Hart; grandchildren Katelyn (D.J.) Haddock, Savannah Chevalier, Timothy Hart, Tyler Chevalier, Kelsey Hart, Sierra Chevalier, Kenedi Hart, Seattle Hart, Alycia Vrbas and Lucas Vrbas; great-grandchildren Ekoh Haddock, Erroh Haddock and Ender Haddock. He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.
Lindell was a fireman with the West Frankfort, IL Fire Department for many years. Later he and Judy opened assisted living homes for the elderly and disabled before retiring. Lindell enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and collecting music memorabilia, especially Johnny Cash. He also enjoyed studying his Bible, watching old western movies and gardening. But his favorite activity was spending time with his family.
There will be a Celebration of his life on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11am at Watson Funeral Chapel, 2590 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson, MI with Michael D. Mason officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Arbor Cemetery. There will be visitation on Saturday beginning at 10am until the time of service.
