Kathryn "Kathy" Anne Sterett

Kathryn Anne Sterett of Jackson, MI.   Kathy peacefully in her sleep went home to be with her Lord and her husband on Monday, August 7, 2023 at the age of 79.  Born July 17, 1944 in Jackson, Michigan the daughter of Stanley and Charlotte Wassell. 

She is survived by her 5 children, Paula (Rich) Kohler, Kris (Dale) Vermilye, Tom Sterett, Rob (Gina) Sterett, and Nicki (Doug) Cure; 12 grandchildren; sister, Helen Lamberson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert Allen Sterett in 2017 and her parents.

She was a graduate of St. John’s High School in Jackson and attended Jackson Community College.  She enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casino, and watching Jeopardy on TV.  One of her great pleasures was luncheons with friends and her lifelong friendships with high school classmates.  She loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother caring for her family and spending time with them.  Special thanks to her niece, Michele Back, for her loving care in the last few months.

The celebration of Kathy’s life will be a private family event at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Kathryn.
