Kathleen Ellen Bigelow left us on May 30, 2024, to walk with Jesus. Kathi was born on February 26, 1952, in Jackson, Michigan, to Robert D and Barbara J Stadel. A graduate of Parkside High School, she worked a number of years at Jacobson’s where she formed cherished life long friendships. Through her life she was fascinated by raptors, all kinds of plants and flowers, American history and scat among many other things. She had a hunger to learn, especially about the Bible and the teachings of the Lord. Kathi was a walker all her life and was one of the forces behind the development of the Falling Water Trail. She loved her home and she loved to travel both through our great country and abroad. She especially loved being a mom.
Kathi was preceded in death by her father Robert D Stadel and her brother Robert “Mark” (Nanci) Stadel. She is survived by her husband of 30 blessed years, Bruce Bigelow, and children Ryan (Meggan) Farrell, Amy Svinicki, Dan Bigelow, Matt (Laura) Bigelow, mother Barbara Stadel, sister Karen (John) Frederick, grandchildren Alexis Farrell, Adriana Farrell, Carter Farrell, Lillian Bigelow, Oliver Bigelow, Eleanor Bigelow, Augustus Bigelow, Louisa Bigelow and nephews Tyler Stadel, Adam (Jessica) Stadel, Ben (Stephanie) Frederick, Aaron Frederick, and Jesse (Ashley) Frederick.
The family sends thanks to all the incredible health workers at Henry Ford Jackson as she lived vibrantly for 19 years with her breast cancers. Special thanks to Dr. Phil Frantzis and Dr Mohan Kulkarni. Kudos to the staff of oncology and to Kate at Hospice. Finally the highest admiration and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Joanne Hirth who expertly managed Kathi through so many healthy and happy years.
