Kaitlyn M Heyd

Heyd, Kaitlyn M. of Michigan Center, age 33, went home to be with the LORD on December 4, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She is the daughter of Ruth and Dale Bannister and Stephen and Lena Rutan.  Kaitlyn was born on March 12, 1991 in Jackson. 

Kaitlyn is survived by her husband of 11 years, Trevor Heyd and is the mother to Gideon, Asher and Banner. She is also survived by her sister, Stephanie (Ryan) Essex; brothers, Nicholas (Samantha) Rutan; Christopher (Monica) Rutan; and Robert David III.; Step-sisters, Amelia (Kurtis) Drummond; and Natalie Bannister, and In-laws, Barbara and Clive Heyd; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.  She is preceded in death by her Grandmother, Ella Paquette. 

Kaitlyn graduated in 2009 from East Jackson High School and became a Massage Therapist, but her greatest love was being a stay-at-home Mom to her boys. She absolutely loved going to the beach, being near water and enjoyed the outdoors, as well as gardening and flowers were some of her great passions outside of her family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Watson Funeral Chapel – 2590 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson.  A Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 11:00am at Encounter Church – 620 Robinson Road, Jackson with Pastor Andrew Walker officiating.

Visitation at the Church will be held from 10:00am until the time of service. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions in her honor be given to Encounter Church to start a fund for her boys’ future.
