Joseph John Rybicki

March 7, 1931 ~ February 7, 2021 (age 89)

On February 7, 2021 at 5:00am in Jackson, MI, comforted by the love of his family, Joe passed on to be with the Lord and Gloria.  Joe was 89, born March 7, 1931 in Chicago, IL.  He was the third child of Mary Josephine (Steenberg) and Thomas Joseph Rybicki.  Joe’s family moved to Florida around 1942 where many good memories were made and he met Gloria his wife of 55 years.  Joe lived in Finnville for a short time as an orchard worker, then moved to the Jackson area where he spent the rest of his life.  Joe retired from Goodyear.  He did years of wood-crafting.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jean (Woods); Lorraine Marie (sister), John Douglas (son), Cassandra Jean (granddaughter), and his parents. Joe is survived by 5 children, Harry James (Pamala), Donald Joseph (Rose), Linda Lee Rybicki, Arthur Stevenson (Sherri), Lee Ann Elwood (Wesly); grandchildren Chrissy Brownell, Andrea Davis, Jeffery Rybicki, Lauren Dodd, Jenna Rybicki, Kelley Ebersole, Benjamin Elwood and Suzanne Elwood; great-grandchildren Jacob, Sebastian, Sierra, Alexa, Joseph, Henry, Ileana, and Harper.

Joe wishes were honored and there will be no services.  We love you Dad.  You and Mom have fun on your road trip together.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.  He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.  He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil.  My cup overflows with blessings.  Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.”  Psalm 23 (New Living Translation)
