John Arnold Yochens

Of Jackson, MI reunited with his son, Cory on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the age of 78 after a long battle with Dementia. He was the son of Jess and Theresa (Lasich) Yochens, born April 9, 1943 in Jackson, MI. John is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Janet Yochens; his children, Chad Yochens, and Kristen Yochens; step-children, Barbara Vannest, and Jason Vannest; grandchildren, Kathryn Penner, Alexandra (Michael) Bedle, Jesse Yochens, and Harley Carrol, Nicolette Devine, and Leronda Fleming; and five great-grandchildren; siblings, Hank (Bobbie) Yochens, Marilyn McCrory, and Chris (Esther McDowell) Yochens; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Cory Yochens, and his parents. John was a Jackson High Class of 1961 graduate. Following high school he graduated from Jackson Community College, and attended Valparaiso University. John worked for Consumers Energy, then became Co-Owner of YO Manufacturing where he was a Manufacturing Engineer. He was a member of the Jackson Host Lions Club where he was past-president. John loved photography, research genealogy, and scuba diving. He reached the level of Dive Master where he visited many Islands, his favorite was the Dutch Island of Bonaire. The family would like to give a special thank you to the caring staff of Highland Assisted Living and Memory Care. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family inurnment will take place. A celebration of his life will be held at the Cascade Manor, 1970 Kibby Rd. Jackson, MI 49203 on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 1:00-4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter, 564 S Main St #200, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
