John William McCluer III

Of Jonesville, MI went to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the age of 72. He was the son of  John William McCluer II and Mildred (Kenneth) Gilmore, born May 16, 1946 in Jackson, MI. John is survived by his loving wife, Debera; three children, John William McCluer IV, Julie Modlin, and Jason McCluer; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven McCluer; granddaughter, Madison Modlin; and brother, Mike McCluer. John was a graduate of Western High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. John enjoyed spending time with his family, playing the shofar, and golfing. He was an active member at the House of Refuge Full Gospel Church in Hillsdale. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 1:00pm, Pastor Lorie Nichols officiating. Inurnment will follow at Campbell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

The family will receive friends at Watson Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 12:00pm until the time of service.
