Dailey, John (Jack) of Jackson, Michigan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, age 88 years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Jo. Jack is survived by his seven children, Cindy (Randy) Wrozek; Michael (the late Beth) Dailey; Liz (David) Drechnowicz; Doug (Joanne) Dailey; Jackie (Mark) Lincoln; Marianne (Bill) Thomas, and Lynn Cavanaugh (Andy Fries); twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one sister Peg Bancroft; in-laws Pat (Jerry) Terry, John (Nan) Long, Margaret Dailey, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Lawrence (Donna) Dailey; Mary (Frank) Freundl; Jerry (Marilyn) Dailey; and Harry Bancroft. Jack served in the Marines for four years, ending his service as sergeant. He spent his career working for Walker Manufacturing, Kent Moore, and he was the friendly face behind the counter at Bush’s Party Store. During his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, supporting his grandchildren at all their extracurricular activities, golfing, and attending car shows downtown with his 1929 Ford Model A. He also volunteered for Saint Vincent DePaul of Queen’s Parish for many years. According to his wishes, Jack has been cremated. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 1111 Carlton Blvd, Jackson, MI on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 11:00am with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul of Queen’s Parish or Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice.
The family will receive friends at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00pm and at the church on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 10:00am until the time of mass.
