Joey Dean Edington, 60, of Jackson passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021 after an extended battle with cancer and in the care of the medical staff at The University of Michigan Hospital. "Joe" was born February 23, 1961 in Jackson, MI and was the son of Charlotte Edington and Gerald Edington. He attended Northwest High School, worked as a Journeyman carpenter and was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Not only was he profoundly skilled as a carpenter, but Joe was passionate about fishing, woodworking, loved music and animals, and was an exceptional guitarist. His sense of humor will be greatly missed by anyone who knew him. He was survived by his mother Charlotte, his sister Shelly (Lohrer), his brothers Randy (Noris) and Jeff, his children Joshua and Kaitlin, and his grandson Blaine. Joe was preceded in death by his father Gerald Edington.
As he wished, cremation will take place at the Watson Funeral Chapel with a memorial service to take place later this summer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Foundation.
