Joan Carol Hockenbrocht

Joan “Carol” Hockenbrocht, age 86, of Jackson, Michigan passed away at Henry Ford Hospital on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

She was the daughter of Thomas and Ruth (Parry) Ferguson.  Born November 25,1934 in Irvington, New Jersey.   Carol is survived by her husband of 65 years, David Hockenbrocht and their children Robin Callan (Michael) of Fallon IL, Douglas Hockenbrocht (Andrea) of Beverly Hills, Michigan.  Grandchildren Greg Hockenbrocht (Madeline) of New York, NY, Michelle Visy (Michael) of Hewitt, TX.  Jessa Brecklin (Ryan) of St. Peters, MO, Brenna Mourey of Ballwin, MO.   

Carol graduated with a Master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in education.  Earlier in her life she had a career as a Kindergarten teacher which developed her strong love for children.  Carol was a long-time member of The Country Club of Jackson. She was an accomplished organist/pianist lending her talent to various local churches.  In her later years she entertained the residents of Brightside Memory Care with her music. 

A celebration of her life will be held at Watson Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 12:00 PM  with visitation one hour prior to the service.
